I made a similar ballot a while back, took some advice and now buy in smaller amounts, but even that is hard to do these days , the price of food is so high, especially fresh produce, I literally lay awake at night worrying about the lettuce in its crisper.

My conclusion is that I really can't afford to eat the recommended daily allowance of fruits and vegetables

better than eating out.

I buy stuff on sale in quantity, huge amounts that I eat for months.

Veg on the other hand, I buy one bag of frozen veg at a time, and eat it steamed.

The prices are going up, no question.

^ usually only when I visit my aunt, I love fish, and I love veggies, I'm a nursing student, I know the proper foods my body needs.

don't you get meals at the cafeteria?

I lived in the dorm for 3 years, and while I wouldn't say it's eating "healthy", we got to eat a balanced meals 3x a day.

I remember gaining 15lbs, while my vegan friends dropped 20.

^ sometimes I do eat in cafeteria, it still adds up though, when I'm at the hospital I eat the food there, not the best tasting, but is healthy.

I think next year I'll start eating more in the cafeteria, the foods not that great , but it's food and I'm already paying for it.
