COMMENTS:
makes sense if youve ever had to sit next to some fat bastard on an aeroplane. would be nice to imagine the fat c*nt had to pay twice as much.
^ I dunno, could be much, much worse if that fat cunt was their partner!

better idea is have a partition between seats, so the large person doesn't spill over to your seat. I have been in a 3 hour flight sandwiched between 2 guys who were well north of 300lbs. I literally was squeezed with my shoulders pressed in, I couldn't breathe. I spent 3 hours standing in the aisle (full flight, and they wouldn't even let me peek into the 1st class seat) when I got up, they morphed into my seat like some blob, and there was about 12" space between them, I kid you not. I think if you are going to spill over to other seat, you should pay extra and go biz class or 1st.

I think the ACLU will have something to say about this. Even if I too have sat next to a person well over 300 lbs on a flight. But it still sounds like discrimination on the surface. And the airlines will definitely be taken to court over the issue. (if and when they ever decide to try this).
I'll gladly pay 185 dollars to fly :) I see it as an incentive to lose weight. Really, that's an embarassing way to calculate flight fairs. On the other hand, I do think that an obeise person should have to pay extra for 2 seats. Either that or airliners need to make bigger seats.
