Some web sites state that the average American walks about 4000 steps a day or 2 miles (2000 steps are equal to a mile, approximately). That's counting every step you take from walking from the couch to the fridge and/or jogging to school.

I walk less than a mile a day
I walk between one and two miles a day
I walk between two and four miles a day
I walk between four and six miles a day
I walk more than six miles a day
Not unless the fridge is 2 miles away
