I discussed with nine friends on how they felt about this issue and only two said homosexuals should NOT be killed, but those two also said they need to be punished in some way.

I tried to rationalize their thoughts, if this is pounded in a persons head from birth, can they really be blamed?

It really makes me sad, not only because I think I may have lost some friends, I was surprised they felt this way, in five years we talked, it was never mentioned, we purposely avoided talking about religion.

Yes, the disclaimers, some Christians feel this way too, but none were my friends so I didn't have to make this decision.

How would you handle such a situation?

A few hours ago, I posted here that I'd once let hate rule me, and that I'd lot a lot because of it. Now, being the person I am, I can't associate myself with the emotion, or anyone who chooses to embrace it.

yes they were serious, I always thought they had great qualities before this, one bought me a very expensive stethoscope, another invited me to stay with his family for a visit. I know many faiths believe homosexually is a sin, I actually assumed they felt this way as well , but I never thought they would have these feelings.

I would not shun them completely. I would just not associate with them with the same level intensity I once did. Their "love" is conditional and punitive, and continued contact with them would frustrate you and cause friction.
