Voted : I'm American and congress doing that would be okay with me
Congress does not have a right to tell you what to drive of the cars that are AVAILABLE. But they have a right to say what car makers will produce. From THAT, you have right to choose. I mean, we don't go to car manufacturers with drawings of cars and demand they follow our drawings. Congress should make it a law that engines get 50 miles to the gallon.
^ that is true
I'm not tired of it, but you lot should understand that us peeps from other countries don't really care about your plight. The high prices you complain about would be a luxury here in the UK. Yeah, I know it's mostly taxes, blah, blah, blah but we're payin' $12 a gallon (in real money £'s, obviously :o) $4 (£2)what you pay, I think that's maybe what the price was when my great, great grandad filled his tank to the top with, back in 1935. :o)

If Congress gave a shot in the dark about us, this would've been done years ago. Too much oil money down on "K" Street to get the job done.
