Ok so let's say someone gets a gift card from a company and it's a Visa debit card which they have put in your name and it does expire in a while.
Anyone ever use these or know of any secret fee's that people get for using their gift?

If you know of any please tell us about it in comments.

Ok you get gift card from company.
Company has put said card in your name.
It's a debit gift card by Visa.
It has a preset amount on it and cannot have anything added to it.
It expires but you should use it before then or you get nothing from the card.
Are there any catches to using it or having it?

Also you knew about the card and was hoping to get one for doing your survey and/or work for company.

Ahh, I see. We don't have anything close to that in Blighty. A visa debit over here is the poor man's credit card, allowing one to pay bills over the phone etc, but only if one has the funds in their account. Never heard of any being given awaty though.

^Um I am a poor man talking here ya know. I take offense at that comment.

LMAO J/K but I am poor. No job.

Lol. didn't mean that in a horrible way. Basically someone who would get knocked back for a credit card would get a debit card.

Obviously you're poor, you're only eighteen aren't ya? You've got plenty of time yet, keep workin' at it! :o)

Voted : Yes.
Depends on the company issuing the card. Some do expire, while some don't, but lost value as time wends on. Best thing to do, in that sitch, is to call the number on the back of the card and ask for a disclosure of terms.

I know it expires since it has a date written on the front when it does but on the site and the papers that came with it it says this rule.

Monthly Service Fee- $2.50
As allowed by applicable state law, this is a monthly service fee on your card account. As a courtesy, this fee will be waived up to the expiration date printed on the face of the card.

So does that mean that after the card expires they are gonna start charging me $2.50 for the card just for having the thing? lol.
