KEYBOARD PROBLEM: DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S CAUSING IT?

okay, this has been driving me crazy.

I am typing away at my laptop. I am a pretty decent touch typist, and I am sometimes typing as I am looking at another screen. At random, the cursor position changes to the last mouse pointer position. and next thing you know my document is all messed up.

it happens on 2 dell laptop that I have, strange enough it does not happen on a HP laptop, just my luck the dell is the one I use to do the typing.

any clues on why this is happening, and what I can do to prevent it?

Does it have a touchpad for the mouse? This always happened to me because my thumbs would interfere with it when I typed.

yeah it does, I didn't think it was my thumb, although it's a possibility because the keyboard is pretty small.

^^ I ended up disabling it and using a plug-in mouse. Problem solved for me.

I've had the same problem with documents when using my laptop. Gotta mind that touchpad.
