Cos british people, when you get right down to it, are a bunch of phicopathic, hard drinking, hard fighting, intelegent, yet still mad basterds.
I think the people that make films have realised that it is more profitable to portray foreigners as evil. It also helps America build up her evil empire.
The reason the "general public subconsciously identifies brits as being 'the bad guys'" is because Brits and other foreigners are continually cast as bad guys. The villain in Die Hard was a Brit playing a German. It is very hypocritical seeing as the crime rate in America is so high.
I don't even watch Americam made war movie.It's so pathetic.Germans and Japanese are always portraied as some kind of phyco fanatics.and Americans are heroes.I'm American and sick of it.

Frankly, the tradition has always been to make the foreigner a villain, but the only group it is still PC to stereotype is the British.
