HOW TO GET THE STICKERS OFF THE CAR PAINT JOB?

the glue like the one on the bumper stickers.

I pulled them off but it leaves glue. acetone works, but too well, it takes off the paint along with the glue.

is there something I can use that will only take the sticky stuff without taking the paint off?

hot water, soap, cloth and elbow grease
lighter fluid

Voted : lighter fluid
Lighter fluid. Ronsonol or Zippo brand. I think they work a little better than the outdoor type fluids for grills, but those might work also. Put some on a light cloth or paper towel and rub it in the sticky stuff. Then wipe it off.

Sometimes rubbing alcohol will work with window decals.

Yep, Grumpy's right. Lighter fuel for petrol lighters does the job, just don't smoke while doin' it.
