Now, prices rise almost $4 per barrel on Israeli comments recently made about Iran's Nuclear Program and it is far from being the first time. According to the press, oil shot up after Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz was quoted as saying that "Iran is on a path toward a major breakthrough in its nuclear program. Mofaz is seen as one of the top people for Israeli prime minister after Ehud Olmert announced his resignation and this fact has fueled speculation that the U.S. or Israel may attack Iran. Iran is also OPEC's second-biggest oil producer. Quoting the news "Mofaz definitely has juice and that would make everybody nervous," said Michael Fitzpatrick, vice president for energy risk management at MF Global Ltd. in New York.
