For satanism, read LaVey, and the words druggy ugly misogynist shit do apply to him, crowley on the other hand was more of a philanthropist than anything, believing that power came from within, not from the dark force of satan,but misogynist? Plus in the Who's Who, you will find him listed as a mountaineer.

He was a drug addict and could not form a meaningful relationship with a member of the opposite sex. He bragged to his acquaintances in London about how he could make himself invisible and proceeded to walk out of the cafe with a big shiny cloak on thinking nobody could see him. He was a dick. Philanthropist? Mountaineer? Don't think so.

sadly Crowley seems to be losing, but to have such strong views made about him surely makes him anything other than an insignificant poser, and to reply to i_carnt_spells accusations, Crowely indeed was a philanthropist, not a satanist, he was one of the first western students of buddism, as well as the first to conquer K2 and Kanchenjunga, and for the christians, was it little wonder he was so enticed by other cultures and ideas having been brought up as part of the Plymouth Brethren?

Crowley never killed anyone or did anything much of interest. He was mainly called "the wickedest man in the world" becuase he engaged in strange rituals and liked to hump men. He was a harmless little nutcase.
