Because, untl this mouth-in-foot moment, Edwards was a shoo-in fr a Cabinet post, maybe even the VP nod. Now, he's dmaaged goods, and a loss in campaigning and fundraising strength n the South.

I find it very perplexing so many aspiring politicos seem to exercise bad judgement in both their public and their private lives... plus we can scratch off one of the possible vice Presidential hopefuls, and probably his having any shot at any ambassadorships too...

He let his wife die with a broken heart while he should have been spending her last days with her.

He's proven himself to be way too selfish for any political position.
