Voted : Bridgestone
I've had my car for thirteen years, and the only "shoes" I've put on her feet have been Bridgestone. *One flat tire*, for the entire run, and that the result of glass from a nearby car accident.
bridgestone = firestone = blowouts. I have seen flipped over suv's several times on the road. Check tire pressure often :)

Voted : Sumitomo
I had Goodyear Eagles on one of my cars (original stuff) but after I bought a set of Sumitomo (Z rated) performance tires I couldn't believe the difference in how the car handled, it was like a totally new car, and I'm a convert. I've never had a problem with flats except for a couple of nails from where I used to work in the truck yard...my other car has Pirelli touring tires and it feels like I'm "riding on air" (what can you say ?)
Voted : Toyo
I don't know if it's the best brand, and I haven't read anything on their ratings, but I use Toyo tires. My parents had some put on their car and were extremely pleased with them. I've used Kumho tires before and wont make that mistake again. They wear way too fast and blow out too easily.

But this is just my opinion.
