Just a theory:
There were seven passengers on the S.S. Minnow because they each represented the Seven Deadly Sins. Which character best represents the deadly sin associated with them?

though I would have thought Gillian would represent sloth, and Mrs Howell would represent Sloth ...

I read in one article that the skipper represented anger and Gluttony while Gilligan represented the Devil. He wears RED and he always manage to keep them from being rescued. His white cap is his pretending to be an 'angel of light'.

What a wonderful ballot question ! 5+5 for you. I believe they did. Excellent observation. The Professor was also a Libigot.

Voted : Thurston Howell: Greed
I never thought of Mary Ann as envious in any way. I always thought of her as the girl next door, sweet, genuine and unasuming.

But Thurston Howell I can clearly see as a great example of greed.
