It's one of the MOST IMPORTANT issues of our times in this country. We absolutely must fix this problem and get with the program. as other civilized countries around the world have. No one should have to worry about paying for meds vs. eating. No one should be financially ruined because they had the misfortune to fall ill. No one should put off an important diagnostic test because they can't afford it. And no one should have to fight with their insurance company over the right to receive life-saving treatment that some pencil-pushing bureaucrat deems 'experimental.' To those who complain that this would mean being put on a waiting list for non-life-threatening tests or treatments: Hey, it's better to wait than not get the treatment at all.

Not by the Government, they failed our US school system. The Malpractice and the Drug Companies lobbyists are a big part of it.
I came back specifically to revisit this, but I can't add a word that mojo didn't introduce. Won't call it a wasted trip...
UncleMax Are you happy with the way things currently are?

I am so glad I live in the UK, our system may not be perfect but I will always have access to treatment, especially if it is life threatening. The who 'private is best' isn't always the answer, many privatised utilities in the UK have gotten worse. The rail network for one

No question. Universal healthcare, in principal, is a good thing.
I am not that happy with the current system but I am suspicious of the government taking it over.
