Because it will always be tainted as a sympathy Oscar. He was awesome in it, but action films rarely get the nod.

At first I said 'yes' because I've never see acting like that. But then I thought 'no' because maybe he wasn't really acting. To use drugs and lack of sleep to psyche oneself out to the point where he or she lives the part isn't really acting. That really does not matter if it produces a great performance. But it's not good if you die from it.

Why are all the people saying no? Who should win an oscar then, harrison ford?

Of course he should win an oscar, he deserves it more than anyone. And who cares if he had problems with medications, most hollywood actors have plenty of issues. Plus his acting was WAY to good to be a "sympathy" oscar. comon people!
