If you are a cuban, you are given special treatment.

due to our wet/dry foot policy, given only to cubans, if you make it on to the beach, you get to stay, if you don't, you go back.

this has resulted in some really silly chases, seen sometimes on TV. but is this really fair?

should we treat them all the same way?

True, but by the same argument the animals that inhabited the Americas would have seen the so called "natives" as the true interlopers when they crossed over from Siberia to Alaska via the Bering land bridge 36,000 years ago.

Mexicans are fleeing poverty. 80 percent of the world lives in poverty. Do want the rest of them here too?

Cuban are fleeing OPRESSION! They have no individual rights, human rights or individual freedoms. So they are eligible for POLITICAL ASYLUM! Which means that if they are returned to their home country they face retribution and imprisonment!

That is why the Cubans are allowed to stay and not Mexicans or other coming here simpley to flee poverty. Deporting them does not put their lives in jeopardy.
