DOES OPRAH WINFREY HAVE TOO MUCH POWER/INFLUENCE?

She basically gave "Dr." Phil McGraw his own television career in psychology despite McGraw losing his psychology license in 1989 never to have to regained it and therefore technically not licensed to practice psychology and also technically not a doctor.

The "average" episode of "the Oprah Winfrey show" attracts somewhere around 15 million viewers and when she appeared on "the Late Show with David Letterman" in 2005 it was estimated an 11 year high of 14 million viewers tuned in, just for Oprah. She earns somewhere around $400 USD a year and pretty much decides what makes the New York Times best seller lists. It seems Oprah can make or break anyone that appears on her show. But all she ever did was give away a bunch of free stuff to various audiences, a few big checks to some charities and started some school over in Africa; but when your net worth is estimated at around 2.5 billion USD...

Absolutely. I can't do a thing unless I clear it first with Harpo productions.

Like anything, we have this magic button called the remote control, which can amazingly change channels.

She cleverly taps into the American (or any other consumer nations) psyche, in which avarice is the motivator.... if you watch, perhaps you can get something for nothing.

Personally, I find her manipulation of an audience quite a good exercise in Darwinian principles. I have caught her show here in the UK a few times and its quite mesmerising how she does it.

The CIA should tap into this market, as controlling the masses is only a matter of dishing out a few gifts

Not complaining about her being on the air, asking if she has too much power/influence.
