I've been taking notes and paying attention to how the Republicans go about choosing their second banana... from my perspective I have determined a few things, among them some of the more important "traits" seem to be:

Act as though it's not the Republicans' that screwed things up
Talk change but don't offer any specifics
Read a teleprompter without flubbing any words
Attack the mass media
Attack Democrats
Attack Barack Obama
Don't talk about any specific issues
Repeat Barack will raise your taxes
Don't mention George Bush
Stimulate the base/ pissed off the opposition
ability to fool the poor rubes
Tell the Truth, Dems can't handle it.
Be so idiotic that the moron running for president looks good by comparison

#2 (Talk change but don't offer any specifics) is pure undiluted Barack Obama.

At no time during the Democratic campaign did he EVER do more than give vaporous pep talks that said absolutely NOTHING about anything. Hilary repeatedly targeted specific concerns and put forth intelligent solutions from moment one until she lost the campaign to a patently unsuitable greenhorn.
