Voted : chickening out of the debate
since he was responsible for this mess deregulating the banks and being a general weasel, now he wants a get-out-of-debate-free card. I bet he sleeps well at night too, on piles of cash stolen from the taxpayers' wallets.

Cynical. I hope the American people will see through this crass attempt to garner support under the typical guise of 'patriotism.'

"Chickening out of the debates"? Hasn't he been trying to get Obama to join him in townhall meetings for months to debate the issues?
^Plus he's not trying to get out of Friday's debate just postpone it.
Voted : Nothing more than political posturing and fear mongering
Sound like familiar tactics by the GOP??? 9-11/2nd Great Depression/9-11/financial catastrophe/9-11

What the Wise Lady three floors up said.
Isn't this the BEST TIME to have a debate on what they would do to solve this problem? McCain's people must not yet know what to tell him to say.
Oooh... McSAME just compared this crisis to 9-11. GIVE ME A BREAK! What a bunch of crap. Exactly like what Bush would say (and probably will say in his speech). VOTE MCSAME for More of the SAME!
I have mixed feeling about mccain on this...Reminds me of a Presidential candidate in 1940 and a ballot I wrote. http://www.bestandworst.com/v/129532.htm

he's really making a huge mistake. sure, simple folks who sleep with the american flag as a blanket might see it as patriotic and heroic. it's anything but. he's making matters worse. word is policy makers want to strangle him for doing this. he's rattling markets and looking like a chump. they didn't suspend presidential campaigns during the civil war, the depression or ww 2. what this says is mccain can't handle pressure. besides, the moron is just a freaking senator. he can go vote and keep campaigning. this doesn't look good for mclame.

With his record and the state of the economy, he got skeered...
In today's technology and jet age, they can do both, I don't see why either would find need to suspend their campaign or postpone debate.
