Today on my way to lunch Ian passed a homeless guy with a sign that read 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' Ian laughed.

Once in the restaurant th server had on a 'Obama 08' tie, and again Ian laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came Ian decided not to tip the server and explained to him that he was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. The server stood there in disbelief while Ian told him that Ian was going to redistribute his tip to someone who Ian deemed more in need -- the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

Ian went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as Ian have decided that the homeless guy could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
Should the homeless guy should have received the tip?

I think he meant redistrubution between them that are prepared to work for it. Let 'em get a job, like everyone else, 'Ian' is just encouraging bums. Who the hell's Ian anyway?
