Always wanted to enter one, but don't have a boat. I have a canoe, which I love, but I don't think I've ever seen a tournament- even a local amateur tournament- where they used anything other than big ass bass boats.
Nate... I sent you a private message. Did you get it? I don't think it's working properly.
The 'P.M.'s that is!
Nah, not working man.

I used to be pretty good at pool, but haven't played in years. I'd like to get back in the game though and enter some tournaments. I'd rather enter a shooting tournament, but I've already been in three of those over the years. Nate, I'm not sure of the rules pertaining to type of boat to be used in fishing tournaments, but it reminds me of the time about 20-25 years ago where the winner of a local bass tournament used a flat bottom boat. The tournament was intended for locals, so most of them didn't have anything fancy, but a few out-of-towners showed up in their big bass boats and thought they'd put the locals in their place. I've never seen a group of sore losers as bad as those in the big bass boats.

Texas No-Limit Hold-'Em, to be precise. I've played poker since I was six. G_P, pool would be a close second for me.
Haha! Cheers to that Grumpy. The place I'm fishing in my profile picture is a reservoir near my house. Motors are not allowed, only trolling motors. I laugh my ass off every time I go out there and there's these big bass boats puttering around on trolling motors with guys throwing massive spinnerbaits. I creep up around them in my canoe with soft plastics and quietly pull out 5 bass from around their boat and creep back out while they try to fix a backlash in their $300 reel. When your boat is more shiny than the fish, you're definitely doing it wrong.
Exactly, Nate. As in the case of the locals in their flat bottoms and you in your canoe, it's just a matter of common sense. Fancy baits might help, but it's nothing compared to knowing where the fish are and what they like. The first time I took my son fishing, he caught a 2 or 3 pound bass from a creek bank using nothing but a grubworm for bait.

There are lots of professionals way better and more prolific I am, but at least I would not be hiding what I write in a notebook.
