If you have a digital TV, will you still need to have cable to watch it after the switch? I say no but my SO says you will have to have cable.
Nope, you don't need cable, just a digital tv or a dtv digital to analogue converter box (set top tuner as we call 'em) plugged into your old tv. Your normal aerial should suffice. My tv's are all digital now as they're switching the analogue off in our area this year. I'm not really impressed though, besides the fact it has a lot of extra channels, it hasn't got much else to offer. A lot of the extra channels here are broadcast at a low bitrate resulting in pixilation. As much as they say it's meant to be better than anologue, I don't think you can better a 100% analogue tv signal for quality, besides hdtv that is. It's mainly tv stations which will benefit from switching over.
Voted : Nope, already converted to digital. will watch more TV!
I was digital the day I got cable.
Can't use aerials in my part of the Cosmos, because of all of the crap signals bouncing around in the air. Tried it once, and I couldn't pick up a TV station that was four miles away from me.
