Since the bailout is to eventually give people jobs and not line the owners' pockets, should it be denied to successful companies that never had to fire anyone?

Or should it be given equally?

I see no problem with that logic.

Nor do I. Though you would also have to account for companies that had to lay people off due to poor/improper business practices. Sloppy spenders don't deserve ma money.

That said, I have little faith in this stimulus package. People have seen the bad, and I'm doubting folks willingness to part with any of the money they make in their new jobs.

the problem with this line of thinking is that the economic rebound is completely dependent on the consumers again going out and spending money like drunken sailors.

I think that's where the problem started, and we should look elsewhere to affect this recovery.
