If the traffic is not heavy enough to do so. I will never go over ten MPH over the speed limit. Once they got you at least eleven MPH over the ticket is now worth being stopped for. But there are plenty of people who will still blow by you as if you were standing still. Let the cop get him.
always be aware, cops will set-up on ramps. and in 'pit stops' along highways you need to learn were they are so you can avoid the ticket. Also, a few drivers on the other side of the road will always flash there head lights when they have passed a cop. If you see a someone flash, just slow down to the posted speed limit.
Voted : I used to I used to just because my mother gave me one for a Christmas gift one time, so I felt obligated to use it. I'm like Uncle Randy though. I go with the flow of traffic, but never too fast. Let someone else get stopped or have a speed induced wreck.
I was traveling in west Texas several years ago though and blew by a highway patrol running radar. I was probably going between 85 and 90. To my surprise, he just kept sitting there. My only guess is because I was probably going slow compared to what others drive in that area. You can see miles ahead of you on a straightaway out there, so I imagine catching people going well over 100mph is not uncommon.
