Voted : I use brining
I hate using meat that I have to tenderize just to eat. But I do brine large cuts if I'm going to BBQ them for more than a few hours.
I always keep meat tenderizer in the cabinet though. The kind with papain and not msg. It works great to break down the poison in stings and bug bites.
