Voted : To PETA, any animal that is living under the control of a human is by definition being mistreated.
..and they're just making assumptions about the treatment of the animals. I don't have a problem with it, myself. These are pack animals that are bred for carrying large loads. Donkey basketball is probably less stressful on the animals than some of the work that they were originally bred for. Besides, they're stubborn. If you push them too much, they'll let you know very quickly to back off. If a donkey had a disposition bad enough that would warrant mistreatment by an inhumane handler, he wouldn't be a good candidate for a sport like this anyway. Sometimes PETA knows less about the animals they're trying to protect than the ones they're trying to protect the animals from.
Voted : No, it's animal cruelty.
Call me when the donkeys can commit hard fouls on the hew-mons. Until then, it ain't an even field...
