Voted : No, he should still be rotting in jail
I *chortle* at the thought of this.
Voted : Yeah, he should be doing public service announcement.
He's trying to atone for his bad judgement and errors, he served his time, and I think it's a little unfair to compare dog fighting to child molestation in term of the recidivism rate, plus, maybe there are those out there who may listen to him and find some other way to spend their time with their pets other than trying to make money by having them fight... I'll be keeping an eye on him to see how he does... and whether he ever gets to throw a football in the big leagues again...
we gotta examine how bad this guy is. take the worst of the worst nazi prison doctor, experimenting on prisoners and shooting them for fun. including children. This guy is the same except he did it to dogs. do we really say that killing and torturing dogs are all that different than doing to another human being of a different color/sex/religion etc? remember, the worst of the worst killers in history practiced on animals first.

I didn't know he (allegedly) participated in hanging and drowning the dogs that didn't perform well, I'm changing my vote... put him back in the slammer...
he threw in puppies into pits where the killer dogs can "practice" on them, he hung dogs and used baseball bats to kill them, and god knows what else. he doesn't belong in the society.

Usually someone with a predisposition to torture animals in such a way that he did is not going to change due to prison time. It's a belief that they hold, that animals are just that - animals. Material objects that mean nothing. It would take a heavy amount of brainwashing to change that belief. Any PSAs he makes is probably either court ordered or his idea (or his lawyer's) to make himself look rehabilitated. Of course having said that, diehard fans and admirers can be gullible, blinded, and brainwashed themselves. If his PSAs cause an admirer of his to see the bad in what he did, I don't see what harm it could do.
Both. He should have to do the public service announcement from jail, perhaps saying something like "don't kill dogs and wind up in jail like me." And I don't even like dogs, so that is saying something.
