I really don't think TV should be censored at all. I mean we hold the same meaning for "beep" and the blurring of graphic images as we do fuck, shit, etc and the graphic images themselves. It's the meaning that counts. How come one meaning is okay but the other not?
^The worst part of censorship in this nature is that while the message gets through there is an added dehumanizing element. "You want to see these tits? Well that makes you an immoral person. We blur out these tits because we're good people. Stay tuned to the 11 o'clock news some guy gets his fu¢k!ng face shot off!"

what I don't understand , on BBC America for example, the shows are not censored, boobs are everywhere, why not do same on the American networks? What's the difference?

I really don't know. I will say this though. Recently, a friend of our family was very upset. His daughter's school called him in to meet with them because apparently, a boy came up to his daughter and said "I want to have sex with you right here, right now." Keep in mind...they're 8 years old! The girl I guess responded by shoving him or something. Turns out, the boy heard that line on a show called Family Guy. It's a cartoon. How would a parent know, unless they're totally clued in to everything, that a cartoon is bad. It airs in NY during the dinner hours. I think it's on at 7:30. Seriously...who would think that a cartoon airing that early in the evening, would be bad? Her parent's had no idea.
larry, to answer your question, IMO, it's because Americans are a unique blend of pervert and moralist. Some will wag their fingers disapprovingly at any given thing, and then, within the privacy of their own homes, will do something far more egregious.
