Voted : A city in another country
Without any choice or conditions, the other country naturally. It's that hardwired self/tribal-preservation instinct.
^that would change do you think if a member of your family or a friend lived in the city in the other country?
Most definitely.

Some other country. Not that I'm particularly fond of Americans, but it would ruin my TV for like a month if it were dropped here.

That occurring in my country, regardless of how far away it was from my region, would have an effect on myself for sure, though it wouldn't if it happened in another country.
I guess that would be the ultimate case of NIMBY...

It is a no brainer. Isolationism is something we need to get back to anyway. I'm all for helping humanity but when it means giving up the life i'm accustomed to, F that!

For sure.
If a bomb had to be dropped on a city for no reason I would want it dropped on the city most directly responsible for launching it.

I have to say, it's not really a choice to me. Believe me, I hate that I think this way, but I do, so no use beating myself up over it. :) I think anyone who says otherwise is maybe not being totally realistic.

What does it matter what country it is, or who the people are, or why they are to be killed? Homicide is barbarism, whether preformed by Government or conviction of faith, Murder is murder. conscience Questions like this always bother me when someone asked would you rather have someone you know die, or someone you don't. No matter who dies, peoiple are going to be affected by it. I have felt empathy for both people I know, and people I don't. But whether I know them or not, makes no difference to me, what I consider is, Was it their time and Did they deserve to die the way they did?
I read a blog a while back, can't remember where now but the discussion was if USA was ever under nuclear attack that would be better to blow up over Canada because USA would be more likely to recover and the loss of the American economy would hurt the world more than loss of Canadian economy . I'm not saying I take a side one way or other to this argument but I thought it was interesting subject. Making a moral statement is okay but I like hypothetical scenarios, anyone can choose to opt out if they don't like the question
Ah, idealism from the comfort of the recliner, so easy to do.
