COMMENTS:
I doubt it. Besides it's mostly those who own guns illegally that cause 99% of the problems. I think the the process to acquire a gun legally in the US is too lenient however. It should be like driving. An individual should have to pass a test to acquire a license and different licenses for different categories of firearms.
we still have that wild west mentality. funny that in Europe, even without the weapons the government seem to be afraid of their citizens, whereas in USA, it's the completely opposite. maybe that's why we need the weapons...

^Huh? What are you talking about? Maybe east of the iron curtain circa 1947-1989. Europeans are allowed to weapons, though weapons may be regulated more there.
Who knows. No way of telling. Didnt they change the consitution to out law alcohol? People still drank. I think less people than you think actually own a gun. I dont know any one who does.
LCD, there are about 85 million legal firearms in the 15 EU states alone. It is thought that illegal weapons easily outnumber this. It's not that Europe doesn't have guns.
Why is gun related violence so much higher here than MOST other western nations, or eastern nations for that matter. I know other than China and India we have most people but even percentage-wise I think it’s higher , something different is happening in US , what is it?

Oh, it would be easy to take away the law-abiding person's guns. But, how would you take away the criminal's guns?
^I don't know
It's an interesting question, and I think the crux of the rub (yes..) would come from the actual mechanics of the enforcement of such a constitutional amendment. If this amendment was issued on a kind of "honor system," wherein registered gun owners were expected to turn in their guns within say, 30 days, I think you'd see maybe 50-70% of those people complying and the rest protesting in one form or another (including the odd shootout.) If some huge mechanism was put in place wherein the Feds were charged with forcibly extracting firearms from their licensed owners, the situation would be very messy indeed.
