Voted : Antietam National Battlefield ~ Maryland
In September of 1862, yhe Battle of Antietam (pronounced an-TEE-tuhm) was fought in a field near the Antietam Creek flowing from S Pennsylvania through NW Maryland into the Potomac. The word Antietam is a Native American word, possibly Algonquin, meaning "swift water".
Stalingrad was a legendary battle. 1.5 million people died in 13 months of street to street combat. Brutal combat with knifes shotguns and molotov cocktails.
