Depends on the action. But it's possible to forgive someone for actions that result from weaknesses or frailties we as humans all possess. That's a bit "meta" but basically sound.

You have to forgive first or you become their prisoner. Your freedom from disappointment cannot rely on THEIR decision to apologize. You would be like a puppet on a string. Waiting for an apology is like begging.

Holding a grudge is letting someone live rent-free in your head.
So it doesn't matter how bad somebody sh*ts on you, you people are that forgiving without an apology?
Its a process~sometimes it can take years to do,but after the anger & hurt fade,& you have turned it over in your head many times you begin to feel like its not worth it to be angry anymore & forgive the wrongdoing.I feel better~
Forgiving has nothing to do with the person that has wronged you... it has to do with YOU. You're the one you are liberating with forgiveness. It doesn't mean you forget or you let the other person off the hook... it just means that you don't have to live with the anger and the hurt anymore.
I'm not sure you really can entirely. This is probably a case where you forgive as best as you can but most of all you forget about it.
