Voted : It was all part of the plan from the beginning.
#1 The Old Testament scriptures say the Savior is betrayed by one of his own, and Jesus intuitive selection of Judas sets the machinery in motion.
#2 Jesus as man did NOT know everything. Jesus was in great confusion and turmoil and in the Garden of Gethsemane, He asked God to free him from being the Savior. That is how unsure he was of his own divinity.
Jesus didn't even know his real dad.

The real Jesus was as human as the all of the rest.
Just because the outcome was known, doesn't mean the path to get there was mapped.

Judas wasn't the all inclusive loser here. Each disciple was granted a particular gift and position in the establishment of the early Church. It just happened that Christ knew of Judas' propensity to betray him above the other 11.
In fact, if you read the scriptures, it is apparent that 'Judas' was chosen to be the betrayer by God, not by his own persaonal cognisance.

That's why Jesus never made him an orator to the people, he blabbed everything!
I don't know, I wasn't there. But, I can speculate. Being Jesus ultimate mission it didn't matter. All that mattered was that Judas would betray Jesus to those who would arrest him. The question should have been ... what would have come about if Jesus had not be crucified?
