Tell you a story to set this up:
Identical twin boys meet identical twin girls across town. They pair up, and the boys marry these girls. Children follow. They are cousins, and in about 20 of these United States they can, and do, marry each other. For the sake of the discussion, lets say there are always equal numbers of boys, and girls born to each couple. They are still cousins, so the law of the twenty states applies. Question: How many generations of this would it take before you think genetic defects would ABSOLUTELY show up?
