COMMENTS:
Though today so many expect so much from the government, all the while bitching about Government spending, Budget deficits, the Governments to big, to much regulation, on and on and on. I recall the words of John Kennedy saying, "Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what can you do for your Country".

I agree: there's been a dissonance going on ever since Reagan was in office. The left and chickshit right want to keep all social programs in place, but, at the same time, the right and chickenshit left don't want to raise taxes while government expenditures (entitlements, military, etc.) keep going through the roof. Obama's administration has been the culmination of the worst of all that: massive spending on everything but without massive increases in taxes to pay for it. Huckster/conman Barry O's racked up more debt in 3 years than chimp-in-chief Dubya did in 8 years. If it were up to me, I'd slash all spending, including military spending and social entitlements, raise taxes a moderate amount across the board, and tell the whiners on the left and right to go piss themselves. That's about the only way to salvage the country economically. But, we'd need a dictator for that, since the Congress will never take the steps needed nor whoever gets elected President in 2012.
