Obama spent his first 2 years cleaning up the mess left by Bush. Our economy had just suffered the 2nd worst financial disaster since the Great Depression. He had to focus on stopping the hemorraging and providing lifelines to businesses and millions of Americans that were devastated by it. When time permitted, he moved to fulfill a campaign to make Health Care assceesable to all Ameicans and to provide an option for the millions of who a shut out of the For Profit health care system that prices it's services out of the reach the most low income,jobless and poor people who are financially ruined when inpacted by a serious illness. AND HE GOT BIN LADEN! Something Bush couldn't do for 8 years!

Very little. He has been a big disappointment. And Obama did not kill bin Laden -- the Navy Seals did that. That's like saying that Bill Clinton invented the internet simply because it took off at a time when he was President. Now, had Obama gone on the raid and pulled the trigger, I'd give you that one TheAntidote. But he wasn't. :) Now Michelle, she may have been...seems like her type of covert action.

Actually, the TARP program and most of the stiumulus monies were from Bush... a fact Obama has pointed out many times when he was criticized for those programs. Sorry, but score point goes to the Bush administration.

The advent of the internet can't be compared to an executive order. If the Pakistanis had caught or killed Bin laden, that'd be different, but the fact is Obama took on sorting Bin laden out as a prerogative from day one of his presidency and bin laden is dead as a result. May 2nd 2011 in Abottabad may have played out very differently in a universe where McCain had been elected.

Its an analogy MrSpleen. Saying Obama killed bin Laden just because he happened to be President is no different than any President taking claim for something that happened while he or she was in office, regardless of their role in that event/invention, etc. The order to capture or kill bin Laden was in place long before Barack Obama became President, as was the reward for his capture, the funds to find him, kill him, etc. If McCain had been elected, I'd be saying the same thing; that he did not kill bin Laden...the Navy SEALS did.
So pick any example if you don't like the internet example. How about we say that Harry Truman won the war in Europe during WWII. Forget what Roosevelt did, or what Winston Churchill did...give the credit to Truman, since he was the President at the time. And forget the Allied soldiers. :) It was all Truman.

By your logic the Navy Seals didn't kill him, their bullets did, its a matter of semantics. It was Obama's decision to raid the compound. He could have had it bombed via a predator drone or alerted the Pakistanis, but he and he alone ultimately decided to raid the compound, akin to how your Truman decisively shaped an end to the Pacific Theater of WWII by electing to unleash two atomic bombs on Japan.
Yeah and is was a decision Bush didn't have the balls to make for 8 years.

It's the Reagan mentality of Republicans. Spend outrageous amount on Defense and sooner or later those regimes in North Korea, Cuba and Iran will fall just like the Soviet Union did. It worked then, it will work again!
