Can any of you tell me what exactly is "Worldly" about it? It is contested purely by American teams so why the bloody stupid title?
I see you mention "ethnically diverse". What relevance is this? "since it's the World's best players - they come here" Where else would they go? Only you people play the fucking game. "Japanese influx"? Do they play you at a national level? No. Therefore it is not contested between nations and questions again, why it is called 'World Series'.
Now that the Yankees have A-Rod, it appears to be over. But don't count the Red Sox out yet. It's still winter and Theo Epstein may have a deal or two up his sleeve.
Look out for the Phillies -- they have a SOLID all-around team. Perhaps as solid as the Cubs, and they can't go to the Series.
chris220 -- I was Guest_1d316 when writing this (I was on a different computer), and as for the "World Series" name, just like the examples I gave earlier are still relevant, so is the following: It's just a name. That's all.
