Ask David Kay, the former lead weapons inspector who just said Bush was full of shit.
well, i think the hole things crooked anyway, but american and british polititions got us involved in this shit, and it would be awfull if we pulel dout now and left the iraqis with a shatterd country and complete anarchy.
If you read the question carefully, I mentioned, what would you hope to see in the future. I didnt say, we should pull out of Iraq immediatly, but all this talk about American companies taking over projects in Iraq means one thing. From the pattern of events seen from the past I would imagine, these corporations would run Iraq and profits would mainly fall in the hands of American investors. I just wanted to know if anyone realy cares what the Iraqi people think of all of this. Isnt this what they would fear? That they will lose control over their own resources and economy. Saddam ripped of his people and destroyed Iraq, how are we gona insure to be more fair and just to these people?
Iraqis could throw a dart into a crowd at a Bevis and Butthead revival concert and hit a better candidate for leadership than exists in all of Iraq. They will be lucky to survive, much less prosper, under their own leadership. That is why many Iraqis are begging us to stay.
First it was terrorism. OOPS! no link. Then it was the dreaded WMD (which we seem to have a lot of, by the way). OOPS! Can't find them. Now it's "regime change". Translation: US companies profit with "friendly" leaders. I don't know about any one else, but I can see another OOPS! coming. A very expensive one.
Are hope in the future is a free Iraq who can be a good trade partner. As of right now we can't leave, whether you agree or disagree with the war were in to deep to just pull out and leave that country in ruin. As for the companies who are rebuilding Iraq i can only say that the victor ripes the spoils of war.
