I will say the coolest criminal is D.B. Cooper, however to answer the question i think we need to go with the prototype of what a serial killer is Jack the Ripper. He coined the phrase and set the guidelines to what is expected of what a killer would be. In second is John Wayne Gacy, who's last words were "Kiss My Ass" No remorse there.

I'm voting for Jack the Ripper: he's almost like a villain from a Victorian play, and the literature by criminologists and historians that's grown up around him's more interesting than what he actually did.
