COMMENTS:
No, you vote for the leader, you vote for his/her ability to make desitions in there term of office, most wars and budgeting decisions are made based on sensitive informations that the publick dont no, and the publick arnt trained to make political desitions. Anytihng they screw up they no there gona pay for in the next election.

i see your point lazy & crazy and i understand that the average person does not have the time to make complicated decisions based on limited information, but major decitions such as war for anything but self defence should be brought to a vote, for example i see that you are from the UK, would you have preferred to have voted on sending troops to iraq? or do you think any government should be able to vote themselves a raise? and even if they pay in the next election the citizens are still left holding the bag.

democracy and capitalism are evil less because of any internal flaw than because they are spreading like a weed wiping out all other systems

I think every elected official should be up for a vote to kick them out of office every month to get them all to clean up their acts!
by Universal_President on Mon Feb 02, 04 3:27pm [+]

If we are left holding the bag its our own fault for voting in such a scheeming fucktard, most things desined by commite fail, democracy as it is works, it alows governments enouf leeway to make unpopular decisions that never the less might be good desitions, it alows governments to take risks, and soemtimes governments need to take those risks.
by Lazy_N_Crazy on Mon Feb 02, 04 4:29pm [+]

governments still listen to publick opinion, a sort of unoficial vote, but there more flexeble if there alowed to ignor it to a certain extent

What are the other options?? Communism? Dictatorship? That's the question... not whether democracy "works", but what works better?
by tadgerman on Mon Feb 02, 04 4:41pm [+]

the idea is to follow reason and logic, i am afraid the majority can be swayed by the left media

Democracy is a pillow for Americans to rest their head upon, while wrapped in the blanket of Parliamentarianism. Quite sad, indeed...that is why Democracy is reserved for those with a major inferiority complex and a chip on their shoulder.

Good question. I always have the same thought. The voters should have the say for all important issues in the government.
