what if : political : SELLING AD-SPACE ON A POSTAGE STAMP [+] ballot by Inside_Ed created Mon Feb 02, 04 What is wrong with this idea: What if the government sold advertisements space on postage stamps to private companies? Coca cola and Ford Motor Company on a stamp instead of the queen or the president. Wouldn't this reduce the price of mailing a letter? Couldn't the government put the profits toward reducing the debt? We see advertising EVERYWHERE, why not on stamps? It would be like a pop-up ad on snail mail. public service and private enterprise do not mix The goverment would screw it up somehow like the electric car, it'll never happen it would create MORE bureaucracy brilliant idea I liked the toilet paper idea better.
