i dont like lord of the rings
i thought Titanic was totally lame and boring, plus whats her face outweighted leonardo by a good 50 pounds
Titanic and Lord of the Rings are tied.
American Beauty, Academy Award Best Picture! What was the Academy thinking?!
How can you say Lost Highway is overrated? Very few people know about it, and even fewer have rated it.
Titanic sucked! It was a made-for-tv movie with good special effects. The plot couldn't have been more cliche (poor boy falls in love with rich girl who has an sinister boyfriend) and the acting couldn't have been more over the top.
Titanic. It hits a rock and sinks. What's the plot? It took them 3 hours to tell us that?
LOTR#3...45 minutes after the world is saved it ends. And why did the king sing, he was the coolest guy in the movie and he went all musical.
It sucked bad
I wanna see where these people are that overrated fucking Minority Report. That movie ruled and the critics almost all whaled on it.
Not be beleager the topic, but I have said for a long time that my very favorite part of Titanic was when the ship sank.
it must be usual suspects; the film is nowhere near as clever as people suggest.
Titanic definitely gets my vote. How this picture was even up for the Best Movie Oscar is beyond me. The storyline was completely lame (Take out the fact that they were on the Titanic and you would have laughed at the love story). The historical name dropping was over the top. The special effects were fine, but that doesn't make a great picture. All in all, I was amazed that anyone recommended this movie, let alone everyone.
I think Independence Day was a load of shitty big-budget fluff. They should have dropped the humour element and made it the goriest, bloodiest film ever - complete with the big budget. Not have Will Smith vs some Henson-like aliens.
There's so many but fars a list of 5. 5. Lord of the Rings. 4. the new star wars films. 3. To Fast To Furios(this just sucked) 2. Pearl Harbour 1. Titanic The movie is just terrible for the cost and length. Although that guy can die really well.
All the LOTRs
Yeah the Paris Hilton thing was just because she's popular. Plus nigh-vision sux ass. There are a lot of movie in here that are overrated (Titanic, I. Day, Wild Wild West, Star Warss & Pearl Harbor). I can't choose the worst. The Lost Highway is definately not overrated. Its not "A+" material and it was not rated a such (=not overrated) and i found the movie to be good.
T2. Most people love this movie. Most people are idiots. This is a dumb, mindless, cynical sequel to a truly smart piece of modern cinema.
Pearl Harbor? I think some people here don't seem to understand what the word 'overrated' means. Here's a clue: it's not a synonym for 'bad'.
** karma **
Spider Man was just some average ass movie, and I was a sucker for expecting more out of it.
whoa there american empire,,take your medication and you'll feel fine soon. titanic worst for so many reasons. i'm sorry but i just can't stand leonardo dicaprio. he must have great people working for him cause he's the biggest bunch of nothing and the media goes nuts over all his stuff...this boys life was good but it was a good movie with several good actors.
Most of academy winning movies are overrated. On the other hand,"full metal jacket" is so underratad. That's the best war movie ever.
Ti-fucking-tanic
Titanic is by far the most overrated movie of all time, that movie sucked it was so lame. So much hype for nothing, not to mention the movie also came with arguably the most overrated song of all time as well.
anything woody allen created.
lord of the rings was over rated.. but i wouldent go THAT far.. i thought it was a good trilogy
I truly believe it depends on your level of intelligence and the age of the movie goer. A movie like American Beauty would not appeal to the average popcorn crowd as it is far too subtle to comprehend for the 'action' genre fans. Casablanca, in my opinion the greatest film ever made, would probably not appeal to many people under the age of 30 as there are no snazzy special effects and people actually ACT. I for one will always be drawn to character and plot driven movies, but sadly, most films are aimed at the 13 - 24 year old demographic, and the big movie studios will milk a formula for all its worth once they think they have a hit..... Home Alone 6 anyone?
The Harry Potter movies are pathetic! I'm sorry for you fans out there, but it was origionaly a kids book! How can you see that movie if you're over 13? You'd feel like an ass. I also think The Day After Tomorrow was over rated. Good, but over rated. If there wasnt so much hype about it, it might have been better. And they should have scrapped the romantic sub plot between the teenagers in new york. They should have stuck to facts, it would have made it more scary and more of an eye opener.
i almost fell asleep

the cut-up-for-t.v version of the exorcist was SO boring! it IS THE most overrated film EVER! even more than pulp fiction(which was o.k really), and i haven't even bothered watching terminator 3 or the third matrix film
lota titanic haters huh? well, i h8 disaster movies anyway, so anything historical don't usually go down well with me, and bar armegedon, which i thought was ded funny really, i refuse to watch any film involving an asteroid
'I wanna see where these people are that overrated fucking Minority Report.' Except that it doesn't make sense. The short story is all about second- and third-order predictions, i.e. a prediction based on your altered behaviour having read the first prediction, and a prediction based on your altered behaviour having read the second prediction. A misunderstanding of how this would work is at the heart of Minority Report's flawed logic. Most likely whoever adapted it didn't understand all that complicated stuff, and just added robot spiders instead.
"Dude, where's my car?" Yes, that was definitely overrated. I can't believe it won the Palme d'Or and the Best Original Screenplay oscar. For one thing, it retrod ground covered so well in the epic Mark Hamill movie "Corvette Summer".
lord of the rings oh god that was boring i only watched it cause orlando bloom was in it
No, because nobody overrates it.
I hate spiderman! Whats so great about stupid superheroes anyway????
Chariots Of Fire
Are the Lord of the Rings movies actually especially good? They're technically pretty good, and feature good performances for the genre, but the last two films lacked any real sense of danger and menace. The closest we got was the scenes of preparation at Helm's Deep, but that sequence was cocked up subsequently by cross-cutting to the scenes of the Entmoot, continually dispelling tension. TTT is a poorly-paced film.
Haay I could make a song out of it!
watch this...
Whats that something I smell I think its poop Yep that's right its a bowl of soup Why you're eyes drown and they droop Just go check the chicken coup I am slicing a hamburger bun Yes tons of fun with a gun I'm gonna shoot you son I am reading Goosebumps I am reading Harry Potter STFU I am reading a book mothefucker Go to the door and go knocker Running around and fucking around like a fucker Shit shitty and bulshit Use Brains and wit Your dress is torn and it needs a knit I'm currently making a hit I live in Alabama (Alabama Represent) Who is chillin in Atlanta That's right I'm chillin at A-T-L Fucking around in a window seal And livin around in a stainless steel You go around drivin in a wheel And this is how I feel... I'M HIGH MOTHERFUCKER!
Farenheit 9/11
i beg to differ. american beauty was an excellent movie.
and LOTR? just with the effects alone, it was a great movie. most overrated film ever for me? BLAIR WITCH! didn't scare me at all. my sister ender up throwing up because it was so dizzying. that still is my number 1 suckiest film ever.
By the very definition of over-rated. Titanic. It was ok and everything, but comeon, it is the highest grossing film of alltime. I really can't believe that one...there are sooooo many better movies out there.Oh ya, and StarWars ep.1 ranks up there too. And a response to anyone who said lord of the rings...you are just plain wrong. Those movies are instant classics that stand up to just about anything that has come out in the last 20 years. Everyone of you who "disliked" LOTR just don't like the material off hand anyway. For you, it doesn't matter how good the movie was. You just can't wrap your mind around, or accept, any fantasy film with a little imagination. If you don't like fantasy fine, just don't put down a great movie for your dislike of a genre.
