I disagree with all of you. I think homosexuals are nasty. I hate seeing them kiss in stores and restaurants.How am I to eat when I am listening to these guys who sound like girls and kissing each other. The sound of their lisping voice drives me crazy. They sleep with many many people. Listen here is the some simple facts the anus is not a place to put the penis. One is a digestive system component the other is a sexual organ. The fact that you think they are cool and almost hip shows how the media has brainwashed you to believe is is ok. We should not accept gays we should drive them back into the closets where thay came from. And marriage is for the family there is no other reason for it but to raise children with a mother and father. I can't see that there is really any argument about that. The only people I can see that really should support it are divorce lawyers because we know that would raise rapidly.

Honestly, this has been a tough issue for me, and I have been mentally grappling with it for days now. First off, gay marriage has *not* been a legal reality for at least the past 3 or 4 centuries, in Europe or America. One sort of conjures up in one's mind the obvious distaste that the Roman author Suetonius had for the mock marriage of the Emperor Nero and his boy toy Sporus, who was dressed up in drag and had to act like a deflowered bride on his wedding night. This odd event always was cited as kind of the pinnacle of early "Roman decadence" by past historians. That would've been about the extent of the notion of "gay marriage" in the Enlightenment-influenced minds of the Founding Fathers of the U.S. However, I'm also heavily influenced by Libertarian ideals and am not really religious, so not only do I not really care whether or not someone's gay, but I also don't think it's any business of the state. Therefore, we come down to a thorny issue: do gays have a right to marriage as a privacy right under the U.S. constitution, just as straights do? Once upon a time (as recently as 1967), this right still didn't extend to interracial couples in many states. The Supreme Court disagreed, and "antimiscegenation laws" were declared unconstitutional. The sphere of privacy had been extended a bit. Is this an equal protection issue for gays, as the Massachusetts Supreme Court thought? Is this a case of "separate but equal"?

It does not bother me to be called a bigots. Especially by someone whose opinion I do not value. I was not implying that the only reason you have sex is to procreate. I was saying that procreation is the only reason behind sex. And that homosexuals are sexual deviants because they cannot reproduce.When you are in science class and you talk about sex what is it that you are referring to? It is reproduction. The state I live in just passed a law against same sex marriage so I guess there is just more than me who care. It is the apathetic and complacent people of our country that will accept anything. People now want to make homosexuals "normal" because if they can make it normal then it will become moral. Homosexuals are neither moral nor normal.And homosexuals should not be allowed to marry. Guest_24a63: The main purpose of sex with humans and most mammals is for pleasure. How many horny high school or college people are out there having sex with a new child on their mind? What percentage of married couples are having sex tonight just to create a child? Almost none. The main purpose of human sex is most definitely NOT procreation. Homosexuality is a natural occuring phenomenom that has been with humans since who knows when. Many species of animals, including monkeys have homosexual sex. This is something completely natural that has been going on long before you were brought up to believe it was wrong. It's out there whether you like it or not so why not just accept it? Accepting it doesn't mean you have to be a part of it. I'm not and it doesn't bother me because what two people do in their personal time is none of my business.

Folks, I've come to the conclusion that women accept gay marriage more readily because (in general) they seem to have a better grasp on what love is and some men can only address the anal sex part and can't get past it. It's more of a statement about people like Guest_24a63 are probably raised to accept religious faith blindly to see a vast difference between what men are and women are (ie, women are the weaker sex) and that blacks are inferior and so on. And people like Guest_24a63 just go along and just see things from a surface perspective because that's what people who don't think for themselves tend to only see and address. Guest_24a63 you cannot see this forrest for the trees... only the trees. I feel sorry for you and for those you CHOOSE to oppress. I am gay and i think gay marriage would not affect normal marriages by any means. And this is obviously known, all the people against gay marriage always say this.: 1.Its not natural,2.Marriage is between a man and a woman Well i have to say maybe its not natural for them but it was for me, i had no choice and i felt ashamed as a kid and as a young teenager because society teaches you its wrong ,marriage is between and man and a woman for the mere reason that gay marriages are not legal... Well i came out of the closet when i was 16 (3 years ago)and my father beat me up and tried to kill me for that reason he said quote i'd rather have a dead son than a gay one.. .. i couldn't believe that my family would be so against me when i thought they loved me.. it wasnt something i could change anyway my point is i had to go thru enough then to now have to go thru people telling me who i am supposed to love or not. GOSH i know straight people would feel frustrated if someone told you who you can marry and who you shouldnt marry right? And while he doesn't disagree with that point, he does say that the purpose of sex is procreation, which may be true, but that doesn't stop same-sex couples from doing things that are "unnatural". Does a penis belong in someone's mouth? Is sperm meant to slide down some chick's throat, or spert onto your own hand? NO, it's not, and yet many people engage in these pleasurable activities that have nothing to do with procreation. No one is blaming homosexuality on polygamy. If consenting gay adults can marry then a consenting group of adults have the same legal argument as gays. Equal rights for all, right? I don't know if this is good for the American family. Yes to equal rights and No to gay marriages. Do not change the definition to include gays. In 99.9999% of cultures and socities through out human history the definition is clear.
No, gay marriage doesn't affect me, but I think it's pointless. Love and monogamy don't require marriage, which is essentially just a legal procedure, the means to form a respectable family in case there are children, and a way to get wedding presents. As for inheritance issues, I am of the opinion that everyone should make out a will if they care where their money goes after they die.
Gay marriage is to be banned in Australia, for the sake of "the continuation of the species". So why are infertile people allowed to marry?

I feel sorry for people like guest_579cc, I see them as very shallow, and very uncaring. Because of this they are missing out on meeting alot of wonderful people.
There is a big difference between interracial couples and gay couples. An interracial couple still consists of a man and a woman. You can't compare the two. Personally i don't care what gays do, they can get married if they want, but personally I think it's unnatural from a biological point of view. If everyone were gay, not including bisexuals the human race would end.I know that many gays will argue that not all women can have children and that's true, but it is because they they have an illness or they were born without a uteris and so forth, but two men and two women together can't have kids regrdardless rather they have an illness or not, it's automatic, because physically they can't. science has not yet proven that gays are born that way, so until it does I don't buy it. I think it's more about a kind of psychological comfortability than anything else. I saw some so-called evidence first trying to prove they were born that way, but the people tested were ill and they were grown men. If you're going to prove that then you have to run tests on a babies and not adults. A sense of sexuality or identification with gender according to Pscyhology isn't established until later in a child, therefore sexual orientation isn't either. Gay Marriage wouldn't have any effect on me, because marriage as an institution today is a joke anyway and there are so many divorces and people marrying for all the wrong reasons. I don't think that a person should have to get married anyway in order to prove their love to another person or to live with them. That way if things don't work out you can just leave with no strings attached.I think gays mostly want gay marriage rather than just civil unions, because it would place them as equals in the eyes of the law and therefore society would have to be more open to accepting homosexuality, which is the exact reason why people don't want gay marriage, because it would mean saying that gays are just like other couples and they don't feel they are.
Well I can honestly tell each of you that homosexuality is something you are born with. I do not need scientific proof, I know. Im gay, but do you think I want to be? If I could wake up one morning and be sexually attracted to women that would be the best day of my life. Im not ashamed that Im gay, but I want a family, I want kids, I want to be seen as an equal and I cant have that being a homosexual. I dont want to be. If science came up with some thing to make me attracted to women then I would take it in a second. This is who I am, I can't change it. I have tried to brainwash myself that I am straight, I have had girlfriends but it doesnt work because I cant get intimate with them. Im a Catholic and my religion says its not okay to be a homosexual, so what am I suppose to do? Like i cant change it! If you are left handed and everyone says we cant accept you then how is that fair? it is not your fault, you cannot control what hand you right with. I cannot control who I find attractive. I dont want to be homosexual, but I am, and I know I am so I must accept it. I have no choice.
As long as they don't harm or bother us in any way, let them do their thang :)
