The marketing geniuses at Mattel originally were going to pair her with a "non-white" boyfriend, but this idea didn't do as well with the focus groups so they went with an "Aussie" version instead.
Now if she was obese, she probably would have been paired with a doll "of color". That or a Bratz doll with a San Fransico marriage license.
