COMMENTS:
I think you have that one mixed up,they were Sweden's biggest export to the rest of the world- bringing in more revenue than Volvo.
Look at the facts- Only one no.1 record in the states and a no.3 with 'dancing queen' and 'take a chance on' me respectively. Hardly what one would call 'MEGA' now is it?,especially when one considers they had nine number ones in Britain, and were held in the same revernce as Gods all over the rest of the world, especially Australia.
95% of people love ABBA,s music, the other 5% are rockers and metallers too proud to admit it.

They did! But they somehow got coupled with Disco and a deep, dark hatred grew re: Disco. When Disco was overthrown, ABBA seemed to go with it. I wasn't a Disco fan, but I did enjoy ABBA.
It's not like ABBA wasn't not popular outside Sweden and America you ignorant fool!
ABBA was one of those bands that I publicly hated but privately enjoyed. If you're in Vegas you gotta check out Mama Mia at Mandalay Bay.
I'm an American with Swedish roots and I do not know!!
Vocals with strange, unfamiliar accents don't fly here in the US. We're a bunch of uncultured bastids.
