The same thing would have happened if she was watching "Dude, Where's My Car?" "Passion of the Christ" was in about 4,000 theaters so it was bound to happen to somebody.
The woman probably died from the overwhelming emotions she was feeling.Have you seen how people are reacting after the movie is finished?!They are reduced to tears and can barely speak.

The movie literally follows the biblical storyline, I don't see what all the fuss is about. It just portrays the violence in a close up realistic fashion.
If there is some conclusive data to support the fact that people die of heart attacks during this film, well, by God let it be the only film allowed to be shown in England, France and Germany!!! Problem SOLVED! hahahahaha

well, the only thing i don't understand is: why are all the people crying as they watch jesus getting tortured? why are they so traumatized by it? its a movie, the scene of him being tortured was NOT REAL. dont people realize that hundreds of thousands of innocent children and people are being brutaly tortured worse than that every day in some countries? ive seen many horrible things that happen to children in some countries every single day. i dont think people should get so upset and cry and get so depressed over seeing someone getting tortured in a movie. but hey, i havent seen the movie and i dont mean to offend anyone who did cry during it. i just think its wierd to cry over a movie cuz its not real.

I think to say this is just a movie is misleading to the fact that it didn't happen. Whether or not you believe Jesus was the son of God, whether there is a God, or is relgion just a bunch of crap, Jesus was an acutal man either way. His bloodline can be traced back to King David then to Abraham. These people did exist. A man named Jesus, born of Mary who was married to Joseph, was crucified. These facts you cannot deduct from. Whether you believe everything else is up to you.
I seriously doubt the movie had anything to do with the heart attack though.

They said she had a pre-existing heart condition. The shocking scenes of the movie created an emotional response that, in turn, overtaxed her heart. She could've watched "The Exorcist" for the 100th time and keeled over.
