yep. because if you didn't think, how could you invent language in the first place?

One thing that's interesting, though, is how it would be to think w/o words. We're so used to words, it's almost inconcievable to think without them.

Thinking would be clearer if you thought in pictures. A picture is worth thousands of bits of information, words are more specific.

I agree with sickofyourlies. Thoughts must've been pictures. When humans learned to speak, they gained a "thoughtvoice". That brings up another interesting thing. Where does the "thoughtvoice" come from? We're not actually speaking, so how DO we think in words. I believe that this is something science should look into.

Who invented human language. And what did the oldest language sound like? And did all (or most) modern languages come from them?

My theory: the original language sounded like a cross between Arabic and one of the Caucasian languages (like Georgian) - lots of exotic consonants.
