First of all, I know that you know that this is not a question that has an easy answer. When you say they hate you, what does that mean exactly? If you are a well-read teenage girl with slightly low self-esteem and a love for literature and oldies music, then why is it important to assess blame for "the way you are"? You sound pretty fine to me. Elvis was my first love. But I think I understand a bit how you feel. I had very similar feelings when I started wondering why my parents sent me off to French school for 10 years, despite living in California and having no ties to France whatsoever. The point is, you are not alone. We all have our cross to bear - some, more than others. (Can you imagine growing up in Iraq?) Your parents are human. They no doubt want(ed) the best for you, even if you guys get so wrapped up in yourselves that you forget the things that truly matter in life. And, as humans, they may have made some mistakes in parenting, from your point of view. If you come to this decision, can you forgive them? One more thought - in my experience, the people in high school who seem to have it most "together" are usually the ones who turn out the worst off. Anyone who has an easy time during adolescence is either unbelievably fortunate, or stunted developmentally.
Don't know if they did or not. I know you're screwed up, if you think you're intelligent though. Anyone with the kind of post you made on other polls DOES need to get out into the world and get a life!
" Any one who ever served in a war is a murderer " Thats just a stupid comment.
Your Parents sound very cool.So do you.Ever think that other teens are idiots?Its only a few more years of hell.Hang out with older people.
16 huh... well im 17, to bad you live in PA you sound smart, catch ya later :}
When are you kids going to stop blaming your parents for everything? This is the root of your low self esteem. Go forward in your life not backward.
Listen to the stories of some other teenagers who aren't doing so well, and I think you will be very happy with yourself.
And don't listen to idiots like Toxacated.
I think you need to listen to my friend Mr. Rogers. He likes me just the way I am. I bet He'd like you too. It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, A beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?... It's a neighborly day in this beauty wood, A neighborly day for a beauty. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?... I've always wanted to have a neighbor just like you. I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you. So, let's make the most of this beautiful day. Since we're together we might as well say: Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Won't you be my neighbor? Won't you please, Won't you please? Please won't you be my neighbor?
Music today sucks, being smart gives you more option for a future than the other people at your school, and if you started out school early thats an extra year of payment from whatever job you may get.so in short, no, your parents didn't screw up.
ohh god your parents are horrible. First of all, i never knew you where a girl. Second, you must be very shy and not really all that entertaining (sorry) since all you listen to is oldies and well like i mentioned, very shy. My thought about this, your parents done fucked up!
What's wrong with being quiet, intelligent, and well-read with a love for literature and oldies?
Smart teenage chick with low self-esteem, eh? I have to ask -- do you put out?
