COMMENTS:
I see Rolling fields. And the occasional sheep.
Shruberies. Top notch shruberies and clouds.
The side of next doors house. Exciting huh?
Well, at least it's the next door house in AUSTRALIA!
I'm at the top of a hill. Can see over the top of next doors tree's and down in to the valley and up the other side. In fact I can see where wolf nipple works right now!! Loads of birds in the tree's so it's always good to have a chong out the window. Got a window on both sides of my room so I get sunrise and sunset.
Sounds beautiful. I live on the water and right now all the trees are blooming and they drop white and pink blossoms in the water...it's so pretty.
That sounds sweet! I'd love to live near or on a river/sea. There's Something about flowing water and tides... mmmm. I generally think my town is pretty dam shite, but when I'm looking down on it from the hill it suddenly seems really picturesque (apart from AWE (atomic weapons Establishment) on the horizon in the distance!
Oh no..don't tell me that's something we built there....(hiding head in shame)
I can see you aswell tommo - up yours! only joking. The town I live in is called Newbury and Tommo lives in the town next door, both are pretty horrible, but they could be worse.
Just head about 60 miles west of london, that whre we are.
However the view from the living room is absolutely breath taking.
Tadema - dont worry, thats one of ours! We've got a plant in the midlands called Selafield which reprocesses nuclear waste (we basically take radioactive waste material from all over the world and try and extract out of it what we can use for fuel). A proportion of the reprocessed fuel goes by train right across the middle of England to AWE (just west of London) to be used for Atomic Weapons research. Just south of my town tho there's a place called Greenham Common. That used to be an old AMerican airbase. It had the longest runway in Europe and was home to all sorts... galaxy's, chenouks (Spelling?), aircraft, and most controversially, nuclear war heads. There were protesters camped outside it for litterally 10 years! I remember when I was bout 12 going up there to take part in a protest. It's no longer an airbase and has been returned to common land, but there are still old cruise misile sylos, hangers and bunkers dotted around. A few years ago there was aclaim that a streak of leukemia sufferers in Newbury could have been caused by aircraft carrying nuclear contaminated dust across the area. Obviously that was impossible to prove. Yeah, so that swhy I tend to forget how nice the area is, cos alot of fucked up things are going on around us.
also, Vodafone managed to somehow bribe their way in to building their European HQ on agreen belt site in my neighbouring town. If you dont know, a green belt site is an area of land which under no cercumstances should be built on. Areas become green belt sites if the gov thinks a town is growing too fast, or if there a specific species that needs to be protected. This legislation was ignored cos it meant new jobs in the area and VF will attract other companies to the area.
That's a shame. I know it was one of the biggest complaints of the Germans. We had our bases scattered all over their country. I can't explain it gentleman. Just don't let these things make your decision about Americans. I love my country but I do recognize that this is a great big world and we all have our right to raise our families in peace and without fear of nuclear contamination. I bet the countryside there is beautiful.
